Like you, I have many opinions and thoughts about a lot of things that matter to me.  I often times find myself
having to bite my tongue and saying nothing at all while in certain environments because I seem to be
non-mainstream.   Picking your battles is a wise maneuver and one that I try very hard to live by.  But a lot of
times I feel as if the world has gone absolutely crazy and that I am left feeling empty with so many things left
unexpressed.

That said, I wanted to find a place to, "speak my mind" well................speak my mind (so to speak).  Huh? Ya,
huh, is right.  Today in the country of political correctness it's hard to tell what you can say and cannot say.
Seems the United States has become so politically correct that saying anything at all (your opinion) that does not
fall in line with the seemingly mainstream in our country will get you pegged as Non-Progressive, Anti-American
and even a racist or bigot.

Who I am:  I DO NOT promote hate of any kind.  I DO NOT allow racist statements in the Nordsman blog at all.  I am
not someone that dislikes other people for no good reason.  Meaning: I do not stereotype others.  Show me what
kind of person you are.  Show high character and you are in with me.

I do, however, have many opinions on the state of this country that I am dissatisfied with.  I hope and pray every
day that we are not seeing the demise of the United States.  I love this country.  I was raised to be a patriot and
a protector of our country.  It seems that while most have become complacent with things as they are, I refuse
to not express my opinions here with the hopes of influencing change.

I do hold our countries leaders to a higher regard.  I believe that to be an elected official in this country that you
SHOULD be held to a high standard (not higher standards than you and I).  To me, everyone should be held to
high standards of character, integrity and trust.  The problem is that over the years (in my lifetime of 38 years)
the bar of standards for good character has been allowed to slide so low that no one knows that there is even a
standard anymore.

Is there a reason why this 'bar of standards" has virtually diminished?  OR has it?  Is it the media?  Media has a
huge impact on our perspective of the world.  Is it the Government?  Has our Government not been held to the
standards that we should all be held to?  Is it money or power?  We all know that Washington is so filled with
Lobbyist representing companies or organizations with deep pockets and the power to influence government
that it has become completely out of control.  The judicial system?  The system that allows child molesters,
murders', rapists and other scum of the earth walk our streets everyday?

No, I don't have all the answers.  But I do believe that collectively we can pinpoint the problems, propose the
solutions, find a way to deal with those problems and then influence and promote others to do the same.  We
need a change in the United States desperately.  We can all hope that President Obama (while I don't agree with
all of his views) does this for us but real change has to begin with you and I.
Everyone has an opinion.  What's yours?
